This smash burger recipe features juicy beef patties topped with melted cheddar and a zesty pickle-infused sauce, complemented by fresh onion, tomato, lettuce, and pickles for a satisfying homemade burger experience.
Divide one pound of ground beef into four equal portions and shape each into a compact ball.
Place the meat balls in the fridge while you prepare the toppings: slice the onion, tomato, lettuce, and pickles.
Heat a skillet until very hot. Place one meat ball on the skillet, then press it down with parchment paper to form a thin patty, ensuring it isn’t too thin to avoid drying out.
If you don’t have a burger press, you can use two spatulas to flatten the patty.
Top the patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover the skillet to let the cheese melt.
Once the cheese has melted, remove the patty from the heat.
To make the burger sauce, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, grated pickles, pickle juice, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Assemble your burger by spreading the sauce on the bottom half of the bun, then layering on lettuce, salted tomato slices, and the rest of the toppings.
Place the cheesy smashed patty on top and finish with the bun’s top. Enjoy your smash burger!
